Westworld meets Jurassic Park this time for REAL!

Some of you have probably seen the 1973 film Westworld where there is an amusement park for rich vacationers and the park provides its customers a way to live out their fantasies through the use of robots, However, after a computer breakdown, they find the robots can't be shut down and start killing the guests.

And I'm sure most of you have seen the 1993 film Jurassic Park where Scientists clone dinosaurs to populate a theme park which then suffers a major security breakdown and the dinosaurs are released to make Dino dinner out of the parks visitors.

Well incredibly both of these concepts are going to put together in a REAL Theme Park called 'Restless Planet' that is Due to open in Dubai in spring 2008.

The $1 billion park is a 500,000 square foot recreation of our planet at a time when dinosaurs roamed and is complete with giant, animatronic robotic dinosaurs.

There will be more than 100 animatronic dinosaurs, like the T-Rex, the Velociraptors, and more gentle plant eaters like Triceratops and the gigantic Brontosaurus.”

Restless Planet offers the world’s ultimate theme ride back into the mists of time – through the state-of-the-art electronics of today.

The animatronic dinosaurs have been created by combining the latest scientific research and cutting edge design the Dino's will contain embedded potentiometers and motion sensors etc, apparently allowing the reptilian re-creations to follow visitors with their eyes, track specific colors of clothing, regulate their own movements, and even lunge at viewers.

Well lets just hope that the Real life Restless Planet does not meet the same fate of the fictional Westworld and Jurassic Park or a malfunctioning robotic T-Rex could start making Dino dinner of the real life visiters.

One thing is for sure the The Restless Planet dinosaur theme will be a giant step forward in Dubai's plans to be the top of the World's tourist destinations.

Holy Cow!

Is it a bird? is it a plane? no its just a run of the mill sky diving cow! I read this amazing story recently about a cow plummeted about 200ft from the sky and landed on the bonnet of a couples minivan as they were driving down the road.

Charles Everson, Jr and his wife Linda were driving back from a church service near Manson, in Washington state, when the cow incident occurred. As they drove beneath a cliff, The cow toppled over the edge, plunged 200ft, and smashed into the bonnet of their minivan.
Everson told local newspaper The Wenatchee World: 'It was “bam”- you just saw something come down and hit the hood.'
'I'm like, “I don't believe this, I don't believe this, I don't believe this,”' he added.
The 600lb cow, who was put down at the scene, was identified as Michelle the Cow, a cow owned by Rockin A Rodeo Bulls. Michelle the cow had been at a breeding facility, but had escaped – only for her dreams of freedom to end up nose-diving off a cliff and being dashed on a minivan.
Michelle's owner, Rena Albertson, paid tribute to Michelle: 'She is very missed and I have yet to figure out how to tell our children what happened to her.'

It's amazing that the couple both were ok now they have such good story to tell however it was a very sad day for the cow, maybe we are going to need to start strapping parachute's on them.

McDonald's gets fried in court...

Employee Says She Was Forced To Undress In Kentucky Restaurant As Part Of a Hoax Call
A US jury awarded $6.1 million Friday to a employee who said she was forced to strip in a McDonald's back office.

In the lawsuit, she said someone called the restaurant in Mount Washington impersonating a police officer and gave a description of a young, female employee, accusing her of stealing from a customer. The caller instructed an employee to strip search the woman, according to testimony.Ogborn was forced to undress, endure a strip search, and to perform sexual acts, the lawsuit said. The events were captured on surveillance video, which was shown to jurors during the trial.
Ogborn accused the company of negligence leading up to the events in April 2004, when she was detained for 3 1/2 hours.

The jury also awarded $1.1 million to a former assistant manager who strip-searched Ogborn.
Louise Ogborn, 21, had sued McDonald's Corp., claiming the fast-food giant failed to warn her and other employees about the caller who already struck other McDonald's stores and other fast-food restaurants across the country.
Ogborn had been seeking $200 million. McDonald's Corp. attorneys argued the company was not responsible and contended the company was being sued because of its deep pockets.
Ogborn hugged relatives after the verdict was read.
McDonald's is evaluating whether to appeal the decision, a spokesman said.
"While we are disappointed with the verdict, we remain vigilant in our efforts to protect our employees and provide them with a safe and respectful workplace," said William Whitman, a spokesman for McDonald's USA.

A former assistant manager, Donna Summers, was placed on probation for a misdemeanor conviction in relation to the incident. Her former fiance, Walter Nix Jr., is serving five years in prison for sexually abusing Ogborn during the 3 1/2-hour search.
A Florida man, David Stewart, was charged with making the hoax phone call but acquitted last summer. Police have said the calls stopped after Stewart's arrest.



In my opinion the whole thing seems very strange, I'm not sure who is more stupid the people involved in the incident or the jury for finding McDonald's liable,

'Dead' man wakes during the autopsy

A Venezuelan man who had been declared dead woke up in the morgue in excruciating pain after medical examiners began their autopsy.
Carlos Camejo, 33, was declared dead after a highway accident and taken to the morgue, where examiners began an autopsy and started to cut only to realize something was amiss when he started bleeding and the man woke up, They quickly sought to stitch up the incision they had made on his face.

"I woke up because the pain was unbearable," Camejo said, according to a report on Friday in leading local newspaper El Universal.
His grieving wife turned up at the morgue to identify her husband's body only to find him moved into a corridor - and alive.
Reuters could not immediately reach hospital officials to confirm the events. But Camejo showed the newspaper his facial scar and a document ordering the autopsy.

A terrible thing to happen to someone but I suppose Its a good job an autopsy had been ordered it would have been even worse to wake up in a wooden box 6 feet under.

OJ SIMPSON ARRESTED ON ARMED ROBBERY CHARGES

OJ Simpson is once again in big trouble with the the police, he has been arrested today on armed robbery charges the former American football star and Movie star and sports caster has been arrested and taken into custody by police in Las-Vegas in connection with an alleged armed robbery at a casino hotel room.
The incident occurred at the Palace Station Casino hotel room,
Mr Simpson is reported to have tried to retrieve the items which he claimed belonged to him from a man who was a sports memorabilia dealer in what OJ called "A sting operation" and the group he was with that OJ called his "Golf buddies" apparently pulled guns during the altercation, and weapons have been retrieved by police. so now OJ is being held by Police and is facing charges.

Mr Simpson was tried and acquitted in 1995 of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman on 12 June 1994.

Mr Simpson was later found liable for the deaths in a civil trial and ordered to pay $33.5 million (£17m)in damages - money that has never been collected.

In July, the rights to Mr Simpson's book 'If I Did It' were awarded to Mr Goldman's family to help cover the judgement.
The book, in which Mr Simpson describes how he would have killed his ex-wife and her friend, was published in the US on Thursday by Beaufort Books.

One thing that I think is true is this last event will really boost the sale of the book.

So will he be found guilty?
and if so will he be put behind bars?
and if so how long will it be?
Only time will tell!

Sorority, A Parent's Dilemma

It's been the hottest issue here in the p.i which caused death of numerous member of the said group., fraternity means brotherhood, hmm i'm not quite sure about this, recently one of the media showed the actual video of how this brotherhood works., slapping, kicking, oh is that how they caught benifits from it, sounds like, a group of gangs that acts wildly,kjh..during the initiation of the new member i seen them giving spank on the face, and paddle in the butt.,whowhoahhhh., why do they let this happen? why do they need to suffer from the bruises which might caused them so much pain and sometimes even death, I wonder what posion runs in there veins, I noticed that the kind of activity this group exist were from some of the most the presitigious schools/universtiy, I was saddened especially to see how the parents wept, the loss of such a promising young students, When someone is badly hurt or dies, all the “manly” virtues disappear and fratmen turn back into the cowardly boys that they really are. It is terrible to be killed by one’s they called friends and brothers. I never heard hazing practices when I went to college in university of manila., think they prohibited such horrible activity.
